Designed by award winning architect Charles Wright, this four bedroom contemporary home is located close to village heart and just moments from Four Mile beach in cosmopolitan Port Douglas.  This home was awarded the FNQ residential architecture award from the Australian Institute of Architects and is published as one of the top 150 houses in the world in the publication ‘21st Century Houses – 150 of the World’s Best’.

28 Beachfront Mirage – The (w)right House is one of Charles Wright’s masterpieces in environmentally sustainable design with vaulted ceilings and the presence of water from every angle of the house. The home is designed over one level capturing the essence of the tropical lifestyle of Port Douglas.  Four luxurious bedrooms lead to the open plan entertaining area featuring kitchen, dining and entertaining facilities.  A large, timber deck wraps around the front and sides of the home creating sanctuaries for rest and relaxation.  Curl up in the day bed with a good book or if your tropical holiday has you all psyched up, see how many laps you can do in the pooll!  This home is fortunate to border on to the lush Beachfront Mirage reserve area.  Be sure to take a stroll through.

28 Beachfront Mirage is a popular retreat for weddings and special events.  Permission for events is required at time of booking.

‘We stayed as two families of four, with children aged 5-8 years and had a wonderful stay. The layout of the house is great. The pool is very easily supervised from the living spaces and there is a fab grassy area behind the house which is perfect for ball games. There is even a very shallow area of the pool, separated by a glass balustrade which would be perfect for infants to slash about in. The rooms are spacious and the concrete floors throughout are very practical. The house was very cool and had ceiling fans and AC in all rooms. The kitchen was modern, very well equipped and has a nespresso coffee machine. The beach is less than a 5 min walk away and the main town is an easy, beautiful, 15 min walk away, down the beach. At the town end of the beach, there are lifeguards and a stinger-net, making it quite inviting to swim. All in all, it was a very comfortable house for two families’.

28 Beachfront Mirage – The (w)right House is located within the exclusive, gated Beachfront Mirage Estate in Port Douglas. The Beachfront Mirage Estate features a parkland that borders 28 Beachfront Mirage – The (w)right House on two sides and also features beach access. Macrossan Street is just a 2 minute drive from the Estate or a 10 minute beach walk.
Port Douglas has a pleasant temperature all year round and is a tropical tourist village with the Great Barrier Reef and ancient Daintree Rainforest at it’s doorstep. The International and Domestic Airports in Cairns are just a 50 minute scenic, coastal drive from this paradise. The area is a bird watcher’s paradise.
