The Rainforest Habitat

The award winning Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Port Douglas provides visitors a chance to observe up close a large range of flora and fauna.  Visitors can wander the 8 acres of the sanctuary through 3 different, unique environments with around 1200 animals and over 120 species of the surrounding rainforest, wetland and grasslands.

View the endangered Southern Cassowary, the rare Lumholtz's tree kangaroo, frogs, turtles, lizards and so much more.  Interact with an array of water birds, cockatoos, kookaburras, emus, pelicans, parrots and a multitude of bird species.  Don't miss the world's only pair of breeding pair of black neckeds storks in captivity!

For the ultimate start to your visit, a must do is 'Breakfast with the Birds'.  Guests are immersed within the wetlands environment whilst enjoying the sounds and colours of wildlife as they wander freely amongst the guests.  Sip a glass of champagne whilst deciding what to eat from the extensive hot and cold tropical buffet.

If you are looking for a spot of lunch, 'Lunch with the Lorikeets' provides a buffet where guests can help themselves to homemade soup, steaks, sausages, grilled fish, pasta, salads, breads a selection of cheeses and a wide range of tempting tropical fruits.
