Set in the pristine Daintree Rainforest at Cape Tribulation, the award winning Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours takes you on a unique rainforest tour where your feet don't touch the ground.Fly through the trees on flying fox ziplines, stopping at 5 tree platforms to take in spectacular bird’s eye views over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef. With its low-impact system of platforms and cables, Jungle Surfing offers unparalleled access to the heart of the Daintree from the bustling forest floor to the giants that tower above the canopy.
But it’s not just about the forest. We’re passionate about our amazing environment and all the weird and wonderful creatures within it, and we’d love you to see and share that passion. We want you to have fun with our team, feel the excitement we feel every day as we fly through the trees, rediscover your sense of adventure, and take away a new understanding and appreciation of the vibrant and intricate life of the rainforest.
We know for some it can be a little scary to leave the ground behind and scale the heights, but we hope you’ll embrace the challenge and feel the wonder. Our highly trained team of scientists, tour guides and abseiling specialists will be with you every step of the way to guide you safely through the canopy and into our treetop world. Jungle Surfing is a unique activity where the guides control your flight so no prior experience or specific fitness is required. There is a 250m walk to the first platform along a narrow forest trail, boardwalk and steps, and a short walk from the final platform to the harnessing centre.
Who Can Jungle Surf?
Jungle Surfing is the adventure activity for all ages from 3-103, so the whole family can enjoy the thrill of flying through the rainforest. Our smallest child harnesses fit the average three year old upwards and the adult harness are suitable for persons up to 120kg (260lbs or approximately 19 stone).
Jungle Surfing is not recommended for pregnant women. If you have restricted mobility or are concerned about a specific medical condition, please contact us prior to the tour and we will be happy to discuss your requirements and make our best efforts to accommodate you.
Please note that children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and all persons under 18 years must have our Medical Declaration & Waiver Release signed by a parent or guardian prior to the tour.
Tour Departures
The tour itself takes around 1.5-2 hours from pick-up to drop off, and you’ll spend around 1-1.25 hours up in the trees, with plenty of time on each platform to experience the forest environment.
Jungle Surfing tours depart Cape Tribulation Pharmacy at 7:45am, 8:45am, 9:45am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm every day except Christmas Day. Cape Tribulation is situated 1.5hrs north of Port Douglas.
Please note no private vehicles allowed on Jungle Surfing property.
