Southeast Asian Cooking School Port Douglas.

Nested in four acres of the lush natural surroundings of Oak Beach, 15 min South of Port Douglas, is this working garden growing a vast array of organic and local produce. Ranging from Thai eggplant to kaffir lime, chicken roaming around, your hosts will guide you through what grows here with a tour of their garden.

Oaks Kitchen and Garden was created by Ben Wallace and Rachael Boon who have spent their lives immersed in Southeast Asian cuisine and culture. Their passion for cooking a diverse and interesting menu will influence you to develop your own fondness for fresh, seasonal food.

With the class, you will learn how to make a selection of Thai dishes, classic & modern, from salads, relishes to curries. This class is suitable for all skill levels – whether you’ve worked in a professional kitchen or can barely boil water, you will be able to make simple and delicious dishes.

All classes are intimate and welcome you to ask questions as to create an open discussion around food, sustainability, and Southeast Asian culture.
